Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. She has more than twenty albums. DiFranco describes her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. However, it includes influences like punk, hip-hop and jazz. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy recipient Ani DiFranco is considered to be the father of the DIY movement being one of the pioneers to establish her own label 1990. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
